Purple took a quick 3 to 1 lead, Denim came back to tie 3-3. Denim never could break away from Purple, even though they took a 6-3 lead but couldn't get that safer cushion of a 4 point lead. Half ended at 9-6. Purple was playing with only one male sub and their huck machine and leader Fred was nursing an injured knee on the sideline. Purple was playing with a lot of heart as they were able to keep it tight in the first half. The Women on Denim were also shorthanded with only 3 players and still played intense throughout the game. Denim had Cass Sapir show up for the first time this season and he was an immediate impact as he had the play of the day as he skyed between at least 3 purple players to pull down an ill advised huck from Chia (Chia huck?). The second half had Denim finally take a 4 point lead 10-6, Purple got a point back and made it 10-7. Then Denim turned it on and led 15-8. It looked good for Denim however Purple called a time out and regrouped and came out with 4 unanswered points to make it 15-12. Time out called by Denim and Denim finally was able to score 16-12. The last point was back and forth until a set play by Denim had Kali dump to Nathan who turned and fired to Tim McBride for the final score. (By Rich "Chia' Lucia of Denim) White 17 Berry Red 8 White continues to win and Berry Red continues to struggle but play, hard, spirited disc. Black 17 Key Lime 13 I caught the very end of this game. Key Lime is starting to come together bolstered by the running of Scott Martin. However, Black was just a bit too strong. The game ended on a beautiful forehand from Captain Moses to a streaking Ray Richardson for the score. Gold 17 Pine 15 This was a nip and tuck battle throughout. Gold jumped out to an early lead. Pine fought back to tie the game up at 4 and the game went back and forth with Gold able to take a 9-7 lead at half. Gold was up 13-10 when silly drops by Gold and hard running by Pine brought them back into the game tied at 14. The teams traded points but Gold was able to stay calm under pressure and play good D to pull out the victory. Gold's Mike Dussault was the star of the game with at least 3-4 throws for scores and another 3-4 goals he scored himself.
