Right now, Purple is in 1st place at 10-2 by virtue of beating Gold who is now also 10-2. However, White is 9-3 and plays Purple tonight. Gold has a tough game against Black but if they win and White wins, there will be a 3 way tie for 1st and point differential will be used. If white beats Purple and Black beats Gold, the regular season crown might end up with White. Here are the standings with point differentials. Purple 10-2 + 38 Gold 10-2 +35 White 9-3 +45 Denim 6-6 +4 Black 5-7 +6 Pine 3-9 +6 Key Lime 3-9 -45 Berry Red 2-10 -51 GAMES TONIGHT: Purple - White - Moses Brown Gold - Black - Wheeler Key Lime v. Pine - Wheeler Berry Red v. Denim - Wheeler PURPLE 17 BLACK 11 (by Captain Sarah of Black) It was a good, tight game, with black playing the best zone offense of our season, and purple playing smart and consistent, as well as making a few spectacular throws for scores. It was close throughout, with black taking the half, and then purple finally pulling away midway through the second half, and pulling out the victory. On purple, Winston turned in a great performance on d along with making an amazing 40 yard hammer for a score. On black, Kevin Nagle and Nat Barnett did an excellent job handling against whatever D was thrown, and Maureen Fitzgerald was solid on defense. DENIM 17 KEY LIME 7 (by Captain Chia of Denim) Great Spirited game, Key Lime was playing shorthanded without their captains but played a better game than the score indicated. Key Lime tried to distract Denim with some blistering trumpet solos (the Miles Davis tunes were especially well done) by Colin "Jazz" Smith, but Denim countered with a extroadinary display of skills by Cass "Barnum Bailey" Sapir with his juggling of three chainsaws, a french poodle, and a Disc!!! Best Cheers of the season were heard by both teams. White 17 Gold 5 (by Captain Olivier of White) This game featured some very solid play from a short-handed Gold squad, who played the whole game with only four guys. Scott ran the offense, while Samir, Steve, and Chris were his tall fast receivers. Daphna was very solid, and Amanda had some great grabs. Mary Chan played quite well too, showing some great speed, composure and field sense. White also played very well across the board. Lucky was unstoppable, Corey displayed his versatility as a thrower and a receiver, and Allen hustled even more than usual, narrowly avoiding bowling Meera over in his haste to get to the disc. Jonny Luv contributed by describing painstakingly and at length how many brownies he's eaten recently. If you see him, ask him about it, I'm sure he'd love to talk about it some more ;) But kudos to everyone for great play. Berry Red 17 Pine 11 No report
