ORANGE - single field on walker Monday June 24 Results (Captain Kevin of Forest) Forest 17, Burgundy 6 Exiled to the nether regions of the baseball field, the Leafy Greens took on a delicious 2002 vintage of Burgundy. The first half was a lot of back and forth, both teams playing good possession O and hard D. Burgundy's zone threw a Forest for a loop, but in the second half Forest brought a zone of their own and some inspired offensive flow to run the table. The evening was punctuated by a spirited heckling match between Burgundy's Jeff "in-Green-withdrawal" Hollister and Forest's Andrew "Coach" Brown. Cheers were punctual and effective, the B&B was fun and delicious. Denim 17 White 12 (Andre of White) Damn, Denim's got a solid team. The game opened up with both teams exchanging points. White went up 7-5 and were starting to feel pretty good about themselves, but then Denim ran off four quick points to take half at 9-7. The second half started with Denim turning a 4-0 run into a 6-0 run, eventually building up leads of 5 points. White was playing a little sloppy, but you've got to give Denim credit for forcing some tough throws and not giving us any easy cuts. White got back within 3 at 15-12, but Denim preceded to close things out by throwing their first zone of the game at 16-12, forcing a quick turn and converting for an easy score. If I had to pick White's player of the game, I think it might be Justin Lutes, who amazed us with some great throws and an unbelievable catch in heavy traffic on a hammer from Kira for a score. Dunno how he ended up with that one.... Hmm, hard to pick Denim's player of the game since they got solid play from so many members of their team, so maybe I'll just leave it to them.
